You can apply for the following tax credit programs:

Renewable Energy Systems Tax Credit - Solar PV
Residential and commercial solar photovoltaic (Solar PV) applications can be created and submitted through this portal.  A quick guide to filling out the application can be accessed here.  Frequently Asked Question about the Solar PV tax credit can be accessed here.  For more information about the solar PV tax credit, visit our website at http://energy.utah.gov/solar/

Application Fee
Starting August 15, 2018 in accordance with Utah Code 63M-4-401, the Governor’s Office of Energy Development will begin charging a $15 fee per application submitted. Fees must be paid by check.

You will not be able to receive your TC-40E tax form until the fee has been paid. Paying the fee does not guarantee that you will be approved for the tax credit.

On the check, please include the taxpayer name(s) that appears on the application as well as the address where the solar system was installed.

High Cost Infrastructure Tax Credit (HCITC)
The HCITC is a non-refundable tax incentive designed to boost investment in qualifying infrastructure projects that will benefit the state through the construction of new infrastructure or through the expansion of existing infrastructure. 

Application Fee
Starting July 31, 2018 in accordance with Utah Code 63M-4-401, the Governor’s Office of Energy Development will begin charging a fee per application submitted. Fees must be paid by check. The fee schedule is as follows:

  • $150: Private Investment $10 Million or less

  • $250: Private Investment more than $10 Million

Please be advised that your application will not be reviewed until the fee has been paid. Paying the fee does not guarantee that you will be approved for the tax credit.
